Dwight Fonseka embarked on his educational journey in 2001, achieving a Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology from NUS, followed by an Advanced Diploma in Pharmaceutical Management from MDIS in 2007, and a Master’s degree in Education from NTU in 2013. Dwight has accumulated eight years of experience teaching biology at O and A levels/IB level in international schools in Singapore and abroad, specializing in genetics, biostatistics, and bioinformatics, particularly in Rbioconductor.

 

In 2014, Dwight transitioned into Data Analytics and Database Management, acquiring expertise in Machine Learning, Neural Networks, advanced statistics, Big Data analytics, text mining, time series & social media analytics, and web applications. His primary programming languages for data science are R, and he harbors an interest in exploring more neural networks like GANS and deep reinforcement learning, often leveraging them to develop innovative applications.

 

Currently, Dwight serves as an adjunct lecturer/trainer at TertiaryCourses and Aventis Graduate school, where he teaches programming, data analytics/visualization, data storytelling, and machine/deep learning using tools such as R, RapidMiner, DeepCognition, Tableau, and Advanced Excel. Dwight also teachers management levels courses such as Data Governance, Design thinking with Data, Data protection, Predictive analytics workflow and AI business models.

 

Since November 2018, Dwight has been employed at Plano Pte Ltd. as a Senior Data Analyst, where he engages in data analytics and builds predictive models using eye healthcare data. Since 2023, Dwight holds the position of Data Governance Officer at Plano, overseeing data management, protection, architecture, and analytics.
